COVID-19 Gym Guide
ARE YOU FEELING WELL?
The first and most important point is, are you well enough to attend the gym? Assess your wellness before every visit to the gym. If you are experiencing any symptoms or are feeling unwell DO NOT attend the gym. Refer to the government guidelines if you think you may be experiencing any COVID
symptoms.
ACCESSING THE GYM
We have invested in new access gates at reception which will ensure the gym will never get too busy. The access gates provide a self-service, contactless entry to the gym. Members will either need to use our ‘Evofit Connect’ app or membership card to scan in. Please remember to either have your phone or membership card with you to access the gym, as our reception area will now be unstaffed at times.
HYGIENE
Upon arrival - Use our automatic contactless hand sanitiser.
During - Use our hygiene stations to wipe down all equipment before and after use.
Leaving - Wash your hands before leaving the gym.
Our staff will also be operating regular area checks and disinfecting all high contact points throughout the day.
SAFETY SIGNAGE
You will notice there will be lots of safety signage around the gym. It is there to guide and remind members and staff of the new safety measures.
NEW FITNESS CLASS TIMETABLE
We have adapted the class timetable to ensure we are running suitable classes for the current situation. All classes will now generally be 50 minutes in duration with a 10 minute window at the end to wipe down equipment and place away. We will ask all members to leave the building straight after the class ends. There will be a 15 minute time gap in-between all classes. All class start times will be staggered in different areas, so members will turn up at different times. All class capacities will be slightly reduced to ensure adequate spacing.
BOOKING FITNESS CLASSES
All fitness classes will have to be pre-booked. Members won’t be able to access a class if not pre-booked. Members will be able to easily book all classes up to 7 days in advance using our ‘Evofit Connect’ app. The app is available in the app store.
MEMBERS ONLY
To begin with we will be operating on a member only basis. We will not be offering drop-ins for classes or use of the gym.
EQUIPMENT SPACING
We have made some layout changes to the gym floor which allows for adequate equipment spacing.
CHANGING AREAS
Our changing rooms will be open, but we ask members to only use them if absolutely necessary. Whenever possible arrive at the gym in your gym clothes and leave to shower at home. Unfortunately we’ll have to keep our saunas closed for the time being. Hopefully we can re-open these if restrictions ease.
PERSONAL EQUIPMENT
Whenever possible come to the gym without personal belongings. If you need to use some personal equipment, please only bring what you need and don’t leave anything around the gym. Do not share anyone else’s personal equipment.
PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING WHILE TRAINING
All members must train on their own to ensure social distancing is practiced and equipment is not shared. Spotting is allowed for safety reasons, but we ask the person spotting to wear a face mask.
TRAIN, GAIN AND LEAVE
There is no time limit on how long members can stay at the gym, but the advice will be to try to train as efficiently as possible and leave after your session is done. To begin with we will only be allowing all members access to the gym once per day. This will be controlled by the access system.
OPENING HOURS
Our opening hours will remain the same, 6am to 10pm weekdays and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
BE KIND AND CO-OPERATE
We want the gym experience to be safe and as non-restrictive as possible. If all members can practice the advice in these guidelines then we believe that the gym experience could be even better than pre-covid-19. It will take a team effort from staff and members to ensure everyone enjoys the gym and stays safe at all times.
